Coral Sea Clinical Research Institute (CSCRI) is conveniently located within the Mater Medical Suites adjacent to the Mater Misericaordiae Private Hospital in Mackay.
Under the leadership of a Principal Investigator who is a key opinion leader in inflammatory enteropathies, the CSCRI team is composed of Sub-Investigators, including Consultant Gastroenterologists, Anaesthetists and General Practitioners. The team is further supported by clinical research coordinators/clinical research nurses who bring extensive experience in industry trials with GCP and IATA certification.
CSCRI’s capabilities include:
- Onsite Operating Theatres & Endoscopy Unit
- Onsite Infusion Centre
- Onsite Radiology Clinic
- Onsite priority access to High Dependency Cardiac Unit
- Dedicated Pharmacy
- Priority Access to Specialty Medical Services including Ophthalmologist, Respiratory Physicians and Cardiologists
- Direct access to Emergency Care Centre
CSCRI adheres to ICH-GCP Guidelines and facilities include:
- A clinical laboratory with phlebotomy area
- -80 °C and -20 °C freezers
- Refrigerators
- 24 hr wireless temperature monitoring connected to the hospital power grid
- Ambient and refrigerated centrifuges
- Incubator
- Emergency trolley with AED
- ECG
CSCRI uses the Bellberry Limited as our preferred Human Research Ethics Committee and in most cases, RGO approval is not required, allowing for efficient study start-up.
